Perhaps the best brothers are the ones who choose themselves..... Few people get to choose their siblings, but the country music world is enriched by the pairing of Mark and Nick, now known as The Mulch Brothers. The two met while working in the music industry in New York. Mark, coming from the East coast and Southern rock group The Lemongrass Band which at one time was signed to Marshall Tucker's Ramblin' Records and Nick, a Kalamazoo, Michigan boy with traditional country music roots, might have seemed an unlikely duo, but they hit it off, left their jobs and headed to Nashville to make their dream a reality.
And they quickly made that happen, within their first year in Nashville they hooked up with singer/songwriter Billy Falcon who co-writes with Bon Jovi and during one of their Monday night Sowing Circle jams, the two were joined onstage by Richie Sambora, lead guitarist of the iconic rock group. The jam was caught on video by a friend and wound up all over the news the next day and the boys quickly became one of Music City’s most talked about duos.
Shortly after they began work on their first EP "Dig It Y'All" which was produced by Falcon and Mitch Malloy. The EP yielded a very popular single on Sirius XM Satellite radio "Love Run Wild". The success of the single got the Mulch Brothers out on the road for a National Tour and they haven't stopped since! Known for their tight harmonies and arena-style showmanship, the two have built a reputation for having one of the best live shows around. Their next single “Everybody Loves Summertime” was released in 2010 on Savannah Records. Produced by Dave Gibson of the Gibson Miller Band. The boys embarked on their second summer tour of the U.S. that took them from the East Coast to the Gulf Coast and all over the Midwest. The venues they played included the nationwide music festival on water "Aquapalooza" in Wrightsville Beach, NC, the world-famous Beer Barrel Saloon in Put-in-Bay, OH, the CMA Fest in Nashville, the Sugarloaf Music Fest in Sugarloaf Key, Fl, and several dates at one of their favorite venues The Hangout in Gulf Shores, AL as well as Mark's hometown the infamous Jersey Shore for several dates right on the beach at Donovan's Reef in NJ. In their travels they have opened for Bon Jovi, Big & Rich, Keith Anderson, Gary Nichols, Trailer Choir, Lee Ann Womack, Craig Morgan, Eric Church and Jewel to name a few.
Once again the boys hit the road for a National summer tour that turned out to be their most successful to date!
As much as Mark and Nick enjoy life on the road and performing live their hearts are even more tied to the art of songwriting. The duo has written for Savannah Music Group as well as MGH Music & Entertainment and have had several Film/TV music placements as well as cuts with other artists - including, the ballad "Steal You Away" which became a single for Universal Recording artist's The Randy Rogers Band and spent 6 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Texas Music Charts. The song was also cut by Warner Bros. Recording Artists The Dirt Drifters and was featured in the motion picture "Country Strong" starring Gwenyth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. The title track off their last EP "Lucky You" is featured in the Lifetime TV movie "12 Men of Christmas" starring Kristen Chenoweth. The New Year has brought more TV licensing and sponsorship news for The Mulch Brothers. Farm Boy Brand Clothing has chosen their song "Knee Deep In It" as the theme song for their first ever National TV Advertising campaign for 2012! Mark & Nick are gearing up to record a new CD and hit the road again. Several dates for the "Everybody Loves Summertime Tour IV" have already been booked and the boys are excited about getting back out and playing all their new songs live for their fans and friends all around the country!
